The Project:
The Logan County Water Pollution Control District needed to address a serious infrastructure problem. Aging lines plagued by severe inflow and infiltration threatened the health of the lake and the surrounding community. The goal was to design a complete replacement system that would serve residents reliably for years to come.
The Challenge:
Existing sewer lines ran beneath homes, and high groundwater levels near Indian Lake complicated both design and construction. The project also required close coordination with the Ohio EPA and ODNR due to its proximity to Indian Lake State Park, all while keeping disruption to residents to a minimum.

Choice One evaluated the existing sewer system and designed a replacement solution that addressed both site constraints and long-term reliability. The design relocated infrastructure away from homes, accounted for challenging groundwater conditions, and minimized disruption for residents throughout construction. The constructed project delivered a modern, reliable sewer system for Orchard Island, resolved longstanding inflow and infiltration issues, and helped protect the water quality of Indian Lake for the community and the state park it borders.
