The Project:
The Centerville-Washington Park District saw an opportunity to transform a 24-acre tract of land into a community park designed to serve residents of all ages.
The Challenge:
It was crucial to not only create a recreational space, but to make sure the park reflected what residents actually wanted. Without a clear process for gathering public input and translating it into a workable design, the project risked designing a park that missed the mark or faced opposition down the road.

Choice One participated in public meetings to gather resident feedback and build broad support for the design, making sure the final plan was tailored to the community.
The Result:
Robert F. Mays Park opened as a 24-acre community park featuring athletic fields, a playground, walking trails, a shelter with restrooms, rain gardens, native plantings, and parking. The project successfully transformed undeveloped land into a community asset shaped by resident input.
