The Project:
The Village of Ottawa wanted to create a more connected and welcoming downtown while also transforming Walnut Street into a dedicated community gathering space.

The Challenge:
The Village needed clear, visual concepts for two distinct sites. Without a structured process and compelling visuals, it would be difficult to build consensus, compare options, or take the next step toward funding and construction.
How We Helped:
Choice One Engineering developed concept alternatives for both the Downtown Streetscape and Walnut Street Plaza. Through a series of stakeholder meetings, village leaders evaluated options for pedestrian improvements, public gathering spaces, wayfinding, and streetscape enhancements. Once preferred concepts were selected, Choice One prepared 3D renderings and budget estimates to support future funding efforts.
The Result:
The Village walked away with a complete conceptual package, realistic visuals, and the financial context needed to pursue funding and move its downtown forward with confidence.
